Preparation Time

1 1/2 hours (20 minutes prep, 70 minutes bake time)

Ingredients

• shortening to grease 10" bundt pan
• 1 (18.25 ounce) package devil's food cake mix
• 1 (3.9 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
• 2 cups sour cream
• 1 cup melted butter
• 5 eggs
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
• 1 or 2 tablespoons confectioners sugar

Directions

• preheat oven to 350 degrees; grease a 10" bundt pan
• in a large mixing bowl, stir together cake mix and pudding mix
• make a well in the center and pour in sour cream, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract
• beat on low speed until blended; scrape bowl and beat on medium speed for four minutes
• stir in chocolate chips; pour batter into prepared pan
• bake in preheated oven for 70 minutes (note, baking time may need to be adjusted - the original recipe calls to bake for 50 to 55 minutes, but being in high altitude I found it needs to bake longer...)
• turn onto a wire rack and cool completely; dust with confectioners sugar
