Oatmeal M&M Cookies

Makes about 1 1/2 Dozen Large
Preparation Time
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup flour
- 1 1/2 cup rolled oates
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 stick butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon Kahlua (optional)
- 6 oz baking m&m's (can also use 1 cup of raisins, semisweet or milk chocolate chips)
Directions
- preheat oven to 350.
- in a small bowl, mix together flour, oatmeal, baking soda and salt.
- in a large bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar with an electric mixer on medium speed until creamy.
- beat in egg, vanilla, and Kahlua until well blended.
- add flour mixture and beat until well blended.
- stir in m&m's with a wooden spoon.
- drop dough by tablespoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet (tip - a lot of kitchen stores sell dough scoopers which look like small ice cream scoopers - these are great!)
- bake 10 to 12 minutes
- let stand 2 minutes, then remove to a rack and let cool completely
